"I founded the Flynn Law Office in 2011 after I had been primarily practicing plaintiff side employment law for two years at Talamantes Villegas Carrera LLP in San Francisco, representing workers in individual and class action cases for unpaid wages, missed meal and rest breaks, illegal discrimination, harassment, and retaliation."
- R. Michael Flynn
At the Flynn Law Office we represent workers (many of whom are Spanish speaking) in individual and class action wage and hour cases, workplace discrimination/ harassment cases, workplace defamation, and other employment litigation. I assist employees in workplace investigations, and negotiating severance packages.
We represent people who have been the victims of police misconduct, such as racial profiling, discrimination, police brutality, violation of their constitutional rights, and other civil rights cases. As members of the National Lawyers Guild legal team, we achieved substantial settlements in two cases against Oakland Police in 2013. One settlement was for justice for Oscar Grant demonstrators mass arrested in November 2011 while trying to march to Fruitvale Station, and the other settlement was for Occupy Oakland protesters shot, beat up, and/or arrested during October and November 2011.
We represent immigrants in immigration court proceedings, cancellation of removal, asylum, bond hearings USCIS petitions, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, prosecutorial discretion, U Visas, I-601 and I-601a waivers, employment authorization, and consular processing, withholding of removal, and Convention Against Torture cases.
We enjoy regularly volunteering at immigration and workers’ rights clinics, and handling a steady caseload of pro bono and low bono cases. We often legal observe political demonstrations with the National Lawyers Guild and monitor police abuses. Co-counseling with other law firms and non-profit organizations allows us collaborate with lawyers and other legal workers on worthy cases.
